MangaCraft Terms of Use

These terms are the end user licence agreement (EULA) for MangaCraft. They are written to be read, so they are short and plain.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the independent developer who makes MangaCraft (“we”, “us”). They cover the MangaCraft app for iPhone and iPad and the service behind it. By downloading or using MangaCraft you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
MangaCraft is licensed to you through the App Store. Where these terms don’t cover something, the terms of Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also apply.
How we handle your information is explained in the privacy policy.
Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use MangaCraft on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store’s Usage Rules allow. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the app, try to get around the way it counts and charges credits, or reach our server other than through the app.
Your account
Writing and drawing need you to sign in with Apple, because your credits are kept with your account. An account is for one person. You are responsible for what is done with it, so keep your device secure.
Credits
Credits pay for drawing. Writing your story, its cast and its script costs no credits.
- A finished panel costs 6 credits. The first drawing of each view on a character sheet, and of each place, is free; drawing one again costs 6. To prevent misuse, free first drawings are limited each day, and before your first purchase to 40 in all (about a first book’s cast and places); past either limit they cost 6.
- The first two redraws of any panel are free.
- Redraws triggered by the app’s own consistency check, and the automatic edit that removes sweat drops, are never charged to you.
- If a generation fails, the credits taken for it are returned automatically.
- New accounts start with 60 free credits.
Credits are consumed when images are generated. They do not expire. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded except as required by law or Apple’s policies. Credits are kept with your account, so deleting the account deletes its balance.

US prices. Prices may vary by country; the App Store shows the price where you live before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
- Credits from a subscription are added every month and, like all credits, never expire.
- Deleting your MangaCraft account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple and must be cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
Refunds
All purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple’s process, as required by law and Apple’s policies. To ask for one, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see your payment details and cannot refund a purchase ourselves.
Content rules
MangaCraft is for people aged 16 and over. These rules apply to everything you make with it. The app refuses requests that break them, and a refusal tells you what to change rather than failing silently.
Casting yourself
Use a photo of yourself. Do not upload photos of other people, of public figures, or of anyone who has not agreed to it. Photos containing more than one face are rejected automatically.
Minors
Do not upload photos of anyone under 18, and do not create sexualised depictions of minors or of characters who appear to be minors. This is enforced without exception.
No sexual drawings, in any book
MangaCraft does not draw nudity or sexual content, because it draws real people’s faces from photos, and its AI writer does not write explicit content. Romance, kissing and fan service are fine for adult characters.
The words in your books
What your characters say is up to you: strong language, insults, flirting and adult themes are all fine. Three things are refused in any text that goes into a book: anything sexual involving children, hate slurs and extremist slogans, and telling someone to kill themselves.
Violence
Battle violence, horror and dark themes are allowed. Torture or mutilation as the subject of a panel, and self-harm, are not drawn.
Other people’s characters
Do not use this app to reproduce characters you do not have the rights to. What you make should be yours.
Misuse
Do not use MangaCraft to harass, impersonate or defame anyone, or for anything illegal. Accounts that repeatedly attempt prohibited content may lose access.
Reporting
To report a drawing, use Report this drawing on the panel, or Settings → Report a problem. Both open an email to mangacraft.support@gmail.com. If you believe someone has used your likeness without permission, tell us the same way and we will act on it.
What you own
You own what you make. Manga you create with this app is yours to publish, print and sell. We claim no rights over it.
You are responsible for what you publish, and for having the right to use what you put into the app, such as photos. To make your manga, you allow us to pass your instructions, reference images and photos through our server to the AI provider, for that purpose only, as the privacy policy describes.
The MangaCraft app, its name and its design belong to us. The fonts it uses are shared under their own licences, listed in Settings → Font licences.
AI output and no warranty
AI image generation is probabilistic. We do not guarantee that any particular panel matches your instruction, and generated art may contain errors. Writing generated by AI may contain errors too.
MangaCraft is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the app is fit for a particular purpose or that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Writing and drawing depend on our server and on the AI provider, and may sometimes be unavailable.
Your manga are stored only on your device, and we cannot recover them for you. Keep backups with Settings → Back up all books.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, content, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of MangaCraft. Our total liability for any claim relating to MangaCraft is limited to the amount you paid for MangaCraft purchases in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Ending your use
You can stop using MangaCraft at any time, and delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, for example by repeatedly attempting prohibited content or by misusing someone’s likeness. When an account ends, its credit balance ends with it; credits are not refunded except as required by law or Apple’s policies. Manga on your device stay yours.
The sections on ownership, warranty, liability and governing law continue to apply after your use ends.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. If you keep using MangaCraft after a change, the updated terms apply.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for MangaCraft or its content. In particular:
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection claims.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States of America, where the developer resides, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you use MangaCraft as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
